Want to Launch a Startup? Here’s How Turing College Helps You Go From Idea to Investment
You’re learning to code. Maybe trying AI. Maybe building in Notion or hacking together automations. Whatever it is, you’ve got an idea and you want to build something real.
At Turing College, we've never just trained people for jobs. We've seen many learners like you, joining with startup ideas, side projects, and a drive to turn what they're learning into something of their own. And we want to back them with actual structure, funding, and community to get their ideas off the ground.
Why Many Accelerators Don’t Work — Yet
You’ve probably seen the hype around startup accelerators: mentorship, demo days, maybe even funding. The problem is, most accelerator programs expect you to already have a team, a solid idea, and some early traction.
But what if you’re still validating your idea? Still building your first version while working a job or finishing a course?
That’s exactly where many of our most driven learners are: ambitious, capable, but still at an early stage.
This year, we tested the traditional model with Firstpick, a respected startup accelerator, to give our learners a chance to take their ideas further. And for some, it worked, helping them sharpen their ideas and integrate valuable feedback.
But for most, it was too soon. They needed a space to build rather than just pitch. So we found something that fits better.
Introducing Basedspace: A New Way to Launch
To give our ambitious learners the right kind of start, we’ve partnered with Basedspace — an invite-only in-person founder community built to support bold ideas.
Their four-week program is the entry point. It’s open to anyone in Europe who’s serious about turning their nights-and-weekends idea into something investors would back. Here’s how it works:
- You enter with an idea, even if it’s rough.
- Each of the four weeks, you build fast and get feedback. There are no guarantees, though, and teams that don't deliver get cut.
- At the end, the strongest teams get a €10k grant and an invite to Basedspace's in-person founder residency in Vilnius. Here, you’ll get direct access to a founder community, investor network, and expert feedback to keep building.
To make it through, you’ll need to move fast, take feedback seriously, and be open to fundraising. That’s the core goal of the program: to take you from "I have an idea" to "I'm building full-time, with funding, support, and a real shot at raising."
