Turing College and IKI Lietuva: Innovation in Retail Tech
We held the third Tech Trek event, exploring the latest in retail tech with IKI Lietuva, featuring Paul de Miko.
This week, we had a blast partnering with IKI Lietuva for the third Tech Trek event, which showcased the latest innovations in retail tech. Hosted by the Lithuanian YouTube sensation Paulius Mikolaitis (aka Paul de Miko), the event featured insightful presentations from IKI Lietuva's top experts.
IKI Lietuva, known for opening the first autonomous stores in the Baltics and arranging the first test drive in real traffic conditions in the European Union, proved to be an ideal partner in Turing College’s mission to support education in technology-related fields and foster innovation in various industries.
The event kicked off with a presentation by Mikas Jovaišas, Head of Strategy at IKI Lietuva, titled "Digitalization @ IKI: Small Sandbox for Big Solutions." Mikas shared insights on how IKI Lietuva uses technology to drive innovation in the retail space, captivating the audience with real-world examples and success stories.
Next, Christoph Bodner, Head of Business Insights and Analytics, dived into "Using Embeddings to Understand the Language of our Customers: From LDA to Neural Networks." He broke down how natural language processing can help retailers better understand and serve their customers.
The final presentation, "Screen_Club: Building an Ad-Tech Business from Scratch," was delivered by Liutauras Dockevičius, Data Monetization and Consulting Project Manager. Liutauras shared his story of starting a business from the ground up and the challenges and lessons learned in bringing Screen_Club to life. His inspiring story resonated with the audience, particularly those with entrepreneurial aspirations.
The idea behind Tech Trek is to not only provide a platform for industry leaders to share their expertise but also allow our learners and hiring partners to engage in meaningful conversations. This event was no exception: it was a great opportunity to gain valuable insights about the future of retail tech.
"The collaboration with IKI Lietuva was definitely a success," said Turing College co-founder Benas Šidlauskas. "The event showcased the incredible potential of technology in retail and highlighted the crucial role of education in shaping the future of tech. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with such an innovative company and look forward to future collaborations."
The Tech Trek event with IKI Lietuva proved that when industry leaders and educational institutions join forces, magic happens. At Turing College, we're committed to creating more opportunities like this for our learners and partners to make sure they stay ahead of the curve in the tech world.
So, here's to an incredible event, an amazing partnership, and a future full of possibilities. Until next time, keep innovating!
